The pattern contains all the pieces in two different sizes. One fits completely in the 10" square finished block that's standard for Shiny Happy World patterns.
The other fits completely in a 12" square finished block - or busts out of a 10 inch block as seen in the sample photo of the Polaroid block.

The embroidery pattern is in two sizes - 4 and 8 inches tall.
Difficulty
I designed this pattern to teach appliqué – so it’s great for beginners, and a fun and relaxing project for more experienced stitchers. If you can use your sewing machine, you have the skills you need to make this cute applique witch.
I used appliqué with fusible adhesive and Quilt As You Go to make a super easy quilt - all done on the machine. The pattern also includes links to videos teaching needle turn appliqué and machine appliqué with freezer paper, in case you prefer those methods.

For a single block you'll just need an 11" square of fabric and some scraps for the applique. You'll also need a sheet of fusible adhesive. I use Heat & Bond Lite for all my quilts.
If you're making a quilt in one of my standard sizes, here are recommended fabric amounts needed.
Crib Size (50" square)
- 3 yards of a variety of background fabrics
- assorted prints for the appliques (get at least 7 fat quarters, but you’ll probably want more for variety)
- 2 1/2 yards fabric for the quilt back (or 1 1/2 yards Cuddle Fleece )
- 1/2 yard binding fabric
Napping Size (50" x 60")
- 3 1/3 yards of a variety of background fabrics
- assorted prints for the appliques (get at least 8 fat quarters, but you’ll probably want more for variety)
- 4 yards fabric for the quilt back (or 2 yards Cuddle Fleece )
- 1/2 yard binding fabric
Twin Size (70" x 90")
- 7 yards of a variety of background fabrics
- assorted prints for the appliques (get at least 16 fat quarters, but you’ll probably want more for variety)

1. Jenny - 1 star - I have to say, I was extremely disappointed with "Sufficiently Advanced Magic Book 4". The story seemed to lack direction and the characters felt flat and uninteresting. I was hoping for an exciting and immersive adventure, but instead, I found myself bored and struggling to get through the book. The magic system, which was one of the highlights of the previous books, was barely explored in this installment. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this book to fans of the series.
2. Alex - 2 stars - As a fan of the previous books in the series, I had high expectations for "Sufficiently Advanced Magic Book 4". Unfortunately, it fell short for me. The pacing was incredibly slow, with very little action or plot development. The main character's growth and progression were also lacking, and I felt he was overshadowed by the supporting cast. Additionally, the world-building, which was a strong point in the earlier books, was almost non-existent in this installment. Overall, I was left feeling underwhelmed and unsatisfied with this book.
3. Mark - 2 stars - I struggled to enjoy "Sufficiently Advanced Magic Book 4". The writing style felt choppy and disjointed, making it difficult for me to connect with the story or characters. The book seemed to veer off on tangents that were unrelated to the main plot, leaving me confused and frustrated. The lack of clear direction and purpose made it hard for me to stay engaged, and by the end, I was left wondering what the point of the whole book was. Overall, this installment was a letdown compared to the previous books in the series.
